PRESS ROOM Oceana Transfer Station Closed on February 15 and February 18
(Chesapeake, VA – February 5, 2008) – To make necessary repairs at the Oceana Transfer Station, 2025 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, the facility will close on Friday, February 15. The facility also will be closed for repairs on Monday, February 18, President’s Day. (While the facility is not open on Saturdays, repairs also will be done on Saturday the 16th as well.)
As the repairs are primarily for exterior structures, the weather could affect the closure dates. If the dates are affected, an update will be announced. The facility will reopen, barring any necessary schedule changes, on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. The Oceana Transfer Station accepts waste only from Virginia Beach municipal haulers and area private waste haulers. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No residential waste deliveries are accepted at this facility. Residents may use the Landstown Transfer Station, 1825 Concert Drive, Virginia Beach. Hours of operation for the Landstown facility are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to Noon.
