SPSA Executive Director Selected for FBI Citizens Academy

(Chesapeake, VA April 2, 2007) – Mr. John S. Hadfield, Executive Director of the Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA), has been selected to participate in the FBI’s 2007 Citizens Academy. The Academy acquaints community leaders with the Bureau’s work; domestic terrorism, counter-intelligence, the Patriot Act and the FBI’s deadly force policy will be among the issues covered by FBI personnel.
One class is held each year according to Norfolk FBI Training and Civic Liaison Specialist Pat Bunting.             This year, classes start April 25 and run on various days through June 15.  Ms. Bunting indicated that 32 candidates were selected for the 2007 class. Most classes will be held at FBI’s local headquarters, located at 150 Corporate Blvd., Norfolk. The final class and graduation will be held in Quantico, Virginia at the FBI Academy.
Mr. Hadfield said, “I chose to sign up for this program because it offers an opportunity to learn another important aspect of our life together in South Hampton Roads. This is an activity which is at no cost to SPSA, it’s completely after hours, and I am curious about this aspect of law enforcement and how this organization works.” For more information contact Public Information at (757) 420-4700.
