Marley A. Woodall Jr.
Marley
A. Woodall, Jr. is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a Master of
Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He
also, graduated from Calhoun Marine Engineering School and was a licensed
Engineering Officer in the United States Merchant Marines. Mr. Woodall
completed “The Executive Management Program” at the University of Virginia,
Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. Woodall was president of MAW
Inc., a maritime business consulting firm providing management expertise in
determining the potential of business ventures on both the national and
international level.
Mr.
Woodall was President of three operating subsidiaries of NS Corporation. A
marine terminal located in Norfolk, Virginia, an ocean going barge company out
of Tampa Florida, and a coal dumping, loading and ground storage facility in
Sandusky, Ohio. He developed and implemented long and short term strategic
planning and quality management with emphasis on labor production and cost
reductions. Mr. Woodall negotiated all labor, lease and storage agreements with
terminal customers.
Mr.
Woodall has served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Federal Maritime
Commission which made recommendations for improvement to the United States
Shipping Act of 1984. He served as Chairman of The Terminal Operators
Conference of Hampton Roads and Chairman of The Joint Association of Terminal
Operators. This association encompassed 31 port operators from Virginia to
Texas. He was also past President of the Board of Goodwill Industries of
Tidewater and a former Commissioner of the Chesapeake Port Authority.
Mr.
Woodall is currently retired and resides in Chesapeake, Virginia with his wife
Marilyn. They have two daughters and two grandchildren.
