Fees listed below are effective August 1, 2007.
Waste Delivered to All Disposal Points:
- Municipal Solid Waste — $100.00/ton
(Delivered by any SPSA member jurisdiction )
- Contract Municipal Solid Waste —$100.00/ton
(Delivered on behalf of a SPSA member jurisdiction )
- Commercial Solid Waste —$60.00/ton
(Delivered by non-SPSA or non-Navy entity unless qualified for other rate/fee)
- U.S. Navy Waste — $28.00/ton
- Residential Solid Waste Delivered in private automobile or low-side pickup truck — No charge
- Weighing Charge Per Vehicle, Per Incident — $20.00
**Regulated medical waste is prohibited at all SPSA facilities. A penalty will be charged per occurrence of $250.00, plus any costs
incurred/revenues lost.**
Contract Commercial Processable Waste:
- Commercial processable waste delivered to SPSA Facilities (expect Regional Landfill), contract ending June 30, 2011 if signed on or before February 17, 2006 — $28.00/ton
- Out of SPSA's Service Area Processable Waste delivered to SPSA's RDF Plant — as negotiated by contract.
Solid Waste Accepted at Regional Landfill Only:
- Suffolk Municipal Solid Waste (Delivered by the City of Suffolk) — No charge
- Suffolk Contract Municipal Solid Waste (Delivered on behalf of the City of Suffolk) — No charge
- Non-Processable Solid Waste — $60.00
- Industrial Process Wastes (acceptable only with prior approval) — $60.00/ton
- Dead Animals — $10.00/each or $25.00/bag (Household pets only, i.e. dogs and cats)
- Water Treatment Plant Sludge from any member community transported by SPSA — $46.00/ton
- Ash Material (meeting specifications for landfill daily cover) — $20.00/ton
- Construction & Demolition Waste — $7.25/cy
- C&D Waste when quantities exceed 200 tons per month (per contract terms) - $22.00/ton
- Special Handling Waste — Handling cost, plus 25% (Accepted only with prior approval)
Yard Waste Delivered to the Following Locations:
- Yard Waste delivered to Virginia Beach Landfill - $39.00/ton
- Yard Waste delivered to the Norfolk Transfer Station and Landstown Transfer Station — $39.00/ton
- Clean, natural processed wood chips, 3/4" and smaller delivered to Virginia Beach Landfill — $5.00/ton
Nature's Blend Compost (from Virginia Beach Yard Waste Facility): For compost and mulch, the delivery charge is $3 per cubic yard (15 cubic yard minimum)
Nature's Blend Compost Picked Up:
- 1-19 cubic yards - $24.00
- 20-99 cubic yards - $16.00
- 100+ cubic yards - $12.00
Nature's Blend Mulch Picked Up (From VB Yard Waste Facility:
- 1-99 cubic yards - $12.00
- 100+ cubic yards - $10.00
Nature's Blend Colored Mulch:
- 1-99 cubic yards - $24.00/cy
- 100+ cubic yards - $16.00
Recycling Fees:
- Curbside Recycling Collection Fee (per home) Manual Collection— $1.39 per month
- Curbside Recycling Collection Fee (per home) Fully Automated Collection — $3.29 per month
- Drop-off Recycling Container, per pull — $101.00 each
- Business Recycling Carts (one) — $11.20 per cart
Reduced rates per cart are available based on volume and location.
Whole Tires Accepted at Landfill Only:
- Automobile and Light Truck — $77.50 per ton
- Truck and Light Industrial (up to 24.5" rim diameter) — $140.00/per ton
- Heavy Equipment and Off-the-Road — $155.00/each
- Tires with Rims — Add $2 per tire
- Hauling and Disposal of Used Tires — $950.00 per pull
Household Hazardous Waste User Fee:
- Rate per Resident Visit charged to Customer's Local Government (not paid by the individual customer) — $31.00 per trip
Waste Accepted at SPSA's Regional Landfill (from Businesses):
- Batteries (lead & rechargeable) — $60.00 per ton
- Cell Phone Batteries — $60.00 per ton
- Alkaline Batteries — $.075/lb
Miscellaneous
- Services for member communities — SPSA's cost incurred
- Light Fraction Material (delivered to SPSA's Power Plant) — $15.50/ton
- Trashanator Performance — One show: $145.00 & Two Shows (same day/site): $220
- Gray Soils for use as alternative daily cover — as negotiated by contract to be effective on approval
Appliances with CFC Disposed at SPSA's Regional Landfill or Virginia Beach Landfill:
- Virginia Beach Residents — no charge
- Member Communities or Residents* — $12.00 each
- Businesses — $12.00 each
- White Goods Containers (based upon distance from the Suffolk Regional Landfill) - $75.00-$125.00 per pull
* Billed to customer's local government.
For any category of waste disposal which is based on weight, the minimum fee is $15.00.
All rates to be effective July 1, 2007, unless otherwise noted.
