BUSINESS SERVICES : TIRE DISPOSAL

Businesses wishing to dispose of tires may bring them to the SPSA Tire Processing Facility located at the Regional Landfill, 1 Bob Foeller Drive in Suffolk, Virginia.

Tire disposal customers will be asked to stop at the scalehouse prior to proceeding to the Tire Processing Facility. Tire disposal customers overall weight is captured at the scalehouse and they will direct customers to the Tire Processing Facility. After the tires have been off-loaded, customers need to go back to the scalehouse to be weighed again and they are charged accordingly.

The processed tires will be used as supplemental daily landfill cover or used as tire derived fuel (TDF).

Disposal rates for whole tires are as follows:

• Automobile & Light Truck — $77.50 per ton
• Truck & Light Industrial (up to 24.5" rim diameter) — $140.00 per ton
• Heavy Equipment and Off-the-Road — $155/each
• Tires with Rims  — Add $2 per tire

Tires are accepted:

• Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• Saturday 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon
