Job Duties:  Responsibilities include training in the collection and transport of recyclable materials between residential collection points and designated vendors or other unloading points in a safe and efficient manner.  Emphasis is on no over-the-road spillage, safe and efficient care and operation of equipment.  Work and training is performed under the close supervision of the recycling route supervisors or designated operator trainer and is carried out in accordance with standardized equipment operation practices and general work instruction.  This is considered a training position and will be continually assessed on the ability to meet or exceed the performance standards required to advance to Recycling Vehicle Operator, no sooner than 30 days from the date of initial employment in this classification and no longer than 6 months from the date of initial employment in this classification.
