SPSA operates five household hazardous waste collection facilities. The Suffolk Regional Landfill site is open full time, Monday through Saturday.  The Suffolk Regional Landfill is also the only facility that accepts scrap metal.  The remaining five are open based upon a monthly recurring schedule.  Operating hours are listed below for each facility.

Residents from all member communities may bring unwanted products on any of our established household hazardous waste facilities to be disposed of safely, free of charge. HHW must be delivered in one of the following "personal vehicles," automobile, station wagon, van, SUV or any size personal pickup truck (that is not marked with logo of commercial company and unmodified). Commercial HHW is NOT accepted at any SPSA HHW facility. HHW generated commercially must be disposed of using a commercial waste disposal company

Limit disposal to five gallons of liquid or 75 pounds of solid waste per visit.
